On August 9, 2003, in the Georgetown subdivision, and again on September 6, 2003, in the Meadowbrook subdivision, the Emmet - Chalmers Fire Protection hosted Firefighting Awareness Fairs.
The fair was held to raise awareness of what the Emmet - Chalmers Fire Protection District does to help the community when needed.
Firefighters demonstrated: pumper operations, tanker operations, hoses and nozzles, self-contained foam system, and firefighter personal protective gear.
