Training is one of the most important aspects of a fire department. A firefighter can never have too much training. Firefighters at Emmet - Chalmers are required to participate in 18 hours of training each year, with most having a great deal more. In 2003, our firefighters participated in over 775 hours of training.
Monthly training meetings are conducted by our Training Officers. Topics include pump operations, driver training, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus training, search & rescue, firefighting tactics and so on.
